New Blog Look
I had fun giving my blog a facelift. I love Amanda's Fall Collection 2009 digi-kit. It was a freebie on her website www.kevinandamanda.com. I used the Gimp to create it using her kit. It's a great free alternative to Photoshop. I could play around with designing blogs using kits ALL DAY if I could. :) I'm still hoping to learn how to create my own digi-kits someday. I REALLY would like to know how to make all those cute scrapbook elements.

She has arrived!
Our little girl arrived on August 25, 2012 via c-section. She was born at 8:59am. She weighed 9lbs 8oz! I'm doing pretty good with recovery. I'm still pretty sore when getting in and out of bed. I can't wait to feel normal again! It's amazing having my new baby girl and my now older boy. I love them both so much! Here are some pics.

It's scheduled
After thinking and praying about it I have decided to go with a c-section. I'm really nervous about it. I just want my little girl to come into the world safely without the risk of getting stuck because of her shoulders. I was really hoping that with this one everything would happen on its own. I wanted to experience the whole going into labor. I also was hoping after my c-section that she would be able to stay in the room with me and Travis while I get stitched up. The doctor said that she would go into the recovery room with Travis and they would wait for me there. So I don't get to do skin to skin with her after delivery. Boo! So our little girl is scheduled to arrive this Saturday, August 25th. I go to the hospital at 6am and surgery is suppose to begin at 8am. Praying all goes well!

Decisions decisions
At our growth ultrasound on Friday we found out our little girl is not so little. She is measuring 9 lbs!!! Her shoulders are wide we found out as well that could cause complications. So we need to make the decision to be induced or have a c-section. I'm really nervous about both. Having a c-section is a major surgery and I'm just not sure how I will handle it. Plus I hear about the healing process taking a long time and painful. I keep thinking of going with being induced but scared she'll get stuck because of her wide shoulders. The doctor said worse case scenario they would have to break her collar bone to come out (if the other techniques don't work within the 5 minute window)! I just don't know what to decide and I'm scared to death! Prayers are needed as I make the decision on what to do. Thanks!

17 more days
We had car trouble this past Sunday. With it being our only car we were stranded. We called my parents and they came to get us. Well, while my parents were here my mom took some pics of me. It was nice to get a few pics before having the baby. Nothing much going on with the baby. I've had a few Braxton hicks but no true contractions I guess. This Friday I'll be 38 weeks and I get a growth ultrasound. It will be interesting to see how big she is. Travis has been working at home which is nice in case I go into labor. Im just ready to have this baby girl!

It's August!
This month has finally arrived! I thought it would never get here. Still have to wait the whole month though (thats if she doesn't come before then). My last appointment I had high blood pressure. I had to get some bloodwork done to make sure I'm not getting preeclampsia. I haven't had any of the other signs of it though. So on Friday they will go over my results and see if there is anything to be concerned about. I'm feeling ok though, just tired. I'm going to start preparing some meals I can put in the freezer. That will be a big help when the baby is here. I had Carson 2 weeks before his due date so we'll see what happens with this one.

Sleep Deprevation
It's been really hard the past couple of days. I have not been getting good sleep at all. Waking up at least 3 times a night. I guess this is God's way in preparing me for the baby. Of course when I finally find a comfortable position and sleep Carson is walking into my room to get me up. It's definately going to be a challenge having a baby and a toddler. I'm up for the challenge though and excited to meet my baby girl.
Also, teachers have gone back to work this past Monday. It feels so good that I'm staying home! I can't even imagine me going back to work right now being this pregnant! Thank you God for allowing me to stay home.

Weekend Events
On Friday we had my sister and her family come down to visit us. It was nice to hang out with them and see Carson have so much fun with his cousins. The weather even got nice for us all to go outside for awhile and play.
Saturday morning we had a sibling preparation class for Carson. It wasn't that great. First, their video that they showed had to be watched off the laptop screen because they couldn't get it to connect to the big flat tv screen. So Carson hardly paid attention because it was so small and couldn't really see it. After the video they went and sat on the floor with the lady giving the presentation. She read them a book while they had a snack. Carson was pretty good while eating his snack and then when he was finished he lost his attention span on hearing the story. The age group was for 2-10 year old which is a big gap. I think they should have had it broken up for the younger ones with less of an atttention span. After the story they got their dolls out (Carson had Mickey Mouse since he doesn't own a doll). I wish they would have provided dolls for them. They were showing how to put a diaper on the baby, how you swaddle a baby, and how to support the neck of a baby. Carson didn't like Mickey Mouse having a diaper on lol. The other two kids had baby dolls so I think Carson felt a little left out since he had a Mickey Mouse. After that they had scrubs that the kids could put on to show what the doctors wear. Carson didn't really want to wear it but we got him to wear the scrub at least without all the other stuff. Then we took a quick tour around. So overall we didn't really think it was geared for Carson's age.
On Sunday we had scheduled a tour of the Maternity Unit. We didn't realize we would see that at the sibling preperation class. We decided to go anyway which I'm glad we did. One of the Labor and Delievery Nurses gave us a tour of the unit. She explained other things that we would need to know that wasn't said at the sibling class so that was nice. The rooms are much bigger than the hospital where Carson was delievered at. It seems like it will be a bit more comforting there. They also said they keep the baby with mommy in the room pretty much the whole time unless complications. At the other hospital they took Carson out when they did the newborn screening and stuff. At this hospital they said they do everything in the room. I'm really happy to hear that. I hated when they had to take Carson out of the room.
Besides the tour, I was having a lot of pressure yesterday! Not sure if they were braxon hicks or not. Its kinda hard for me to know what to expect since I was induced last time. I read about contractions and what they are like but they say its different for everyone. After yesterday I need to make sure I pack my hospital bag....just in case. :)

Our Baby Girl
I am 33 weeks today and had an ultrasound and got to see my little girl. :) She has definitely grown since the last ultrasound which wasn't that long ago. She is still measuring ahead and they told me that she is about 5lbs 11oz already! Ahhh! I know all she is going to be doing is gaining more weight before she arrives too! I'm nervous about her size. Carson was 7lbs 12oz when he was born. I'm thinking she will be bigger than her brother was. It was cute seeing her and she actually let us see her face this time! She didn't have her hand over her face but it was by her face and we could see her hand moving. She has chubby cheeks just like Carson did. I forgot to ask about her hair but it seem like she does have hair. The technician was also commenting how cute that we could see little rolls on her legs! Its funny how each pregnancy is different. I haven't gained as much as I did with Carson in this pregnancy but she is bigger than Carson was...how does that work? lol With her room we finally got curtains and some butterflies to go on the walls. Carson still likes going into her room and so he brings his stuff in there. We're going to have to work on that lol. He has a new big boy room though. Travis painted it within a couple of days. Looks so much different with the new dark colors. We haven't put his wall art up yet though since we're letting the paint settle in. I will post pictures when the room is completely finished. Carson hasn't slept in it yet since the smell of paint has been strong. I think tonight he will finally get to sleep in it. Well 7 more weeks till Alayna arrives if I make it all the way to her due date. I'm definitely excited!

Summer Happenings
It has been a month that I have officially been a stay at home mom. Doesn't quite feel that way yet since its still summer vacation and I would be home anyways. I think when school starts up again and everyone is going back it will then hit me that I'm actually staying home. This summer, Carson and I have been staying inside for the most part. Being pregnant in the summer is not fun when it comes to the heat (although it is nice not having to work though being in my last months of pregnancy). I'm sad that I won't be able to do swimming lessons with Carson this summer. I don't want him to forget what he's learned thus far. Well since we have been staying indoors I have been trying to do some of the activities I have found on Pinterest. Carson has been enjoying them. He's enjoying coloring a little bit more than before too. He likes that I have all my school stuff here so he can use it! I also want to add for my records that Carson has been potty trained since about May now. He has had a few accidents but not many so I'm very happy!
Since June is almost over I have a little less than 2 months until Alayna joins our family! The summer has been going by fast and can't believe its going to be July. All the appointments have been going well. She has been a little stubborn though because she positions herself in a way where they can't get a visual they need on the ultrasound. So we have been having to get ultrasounds again so that they can get what they need. I don't mind though because I get to see my little girl again. :) One thing I'm worried about but trying not to be is that she is currently breached. The doctors say she can still do flips so they won't worry about it until I'm 36 weeks when she will start to settle in one spot. So far in all the ultrasounds though she has been breached. So please pray that she won't settle in that position otherwise I might have to have a c-section if they can't get her to turn.
Now that July is starting there is a lot to be done. Still need to finish Alayna's room and get some stuff before she comes. Need to organize the house so that its ready for her as well. Lets hope that it can all be done!

Can we say forever ago?
Yes, forever ago is when I last added a blog entry. I can't believe how bad I have gotten at this. I'm sure everyone that reads this know a lot of the updates anyhow with Facebook. That is the reason I have been so bad about updating this blog. So as many of you know I am pregnant with baby #2. We found out early that we are having a girl. I have the actual anatomy ultrasound this Friday and hopefully they say its still a girl! I have already been looking at girl stuff (it's really hard not too). They have so many cute stuff for girls. We weren't going to do another bedding but now that its a girl we want to have different bedding. We weren't sure what to do about the whole crib thing. Carson is using his crib as it converted to a full size bed. We feel like we're kicking him out of his stuff for the baby. So we were thinking of just getting another convertible crib that our girl could have for when she goes to a full size bed. But now we're thinking of just maybe getting Carson another bed and dresser and keep his crib and dresser he has now for his baby sister. We'll just be looking at prices and see whats the best outcome.
Carson turned 3 in February and has been doing good. He is growing so fast and is getting taller. He is a bit of a clumsy boy in the house with constantly hurting himself after we tell him to be careful. He is always having bruises and scratches on him. He still loves his letters and numbers. If he was allowed he would want to do that ALL the time. He has this collection of Learning DVD's that he absolutely LOVES! He wants to watch them all the time and even when he isn't watching them he imitates it with his letters and numbers. He rarely plays with his other toys. We keep telling him, "Santa isn't going to get you any toys if you don't play with them!" I know we should continue to encourage his love for learning and we do but sometimes he is just consumed with it!
I am so excited that I only have 8 more weeks of school! Travis and I have decided for me to stay home after this school year is over. I'm beyond happy that I'll get to stay home with my 2 kiddos. I'll be looking into tutoring or watching another kid. I'll do some preschool stuff with Carson as well. I'll also try to post some of the teacher stuff I have made onto the teacherspayteachers website. I've already sold some stuff so that is good.
Some other things are we finally bought some outside furniture and a patio swing. It's been really nice having a comfortable place to sit outside. Carson and I usually swing on the patio swing after dinner when we wait for Travis to get home. Now that it's getting hotter we'll probably only get to enjoy it early morning or late evening. I don't know how I'm going to deal with this Arizona summer being pregnant. I'll have to sit in a pool all day!
Well that's all for now and hopefully I'll keep posting more frequently since I'll be staying home after this school year!
